Like all Unitarian Universalist congregations,
we are independent and self-governing. An annual meeting allows
all members equal voting rights for church governance.
Our church is supported by the voluntary contributions of members
and friends, fund-raising activities, and interest from invested
funds (gifts from past members and friends). Each year in late Winter
we have a pledge drive to invite members and friends to pledge their
financial support for continuing the life and activities of the
church.
Many of the church's activities are managed by committees. Friends
and members work together on the following committees to do the
work of the church:
- Executive, manages church affairs.
- Finance, plans and manages the church budget.
- Membership and Program, helps people feel welcome
in our church and plans social activities.
- Ministerial Relations, promotes good communication
between minister and congregation.
- Nominating, nominates candidates to fill vacancies
in church governance positions.
- Property, oversees maintenance of our historic
building and grounds.
- Religious Education, plans and conducts education
programs for children, youth, and adults.
- Social Responsibility, develops and promotes
social action programs.
- Worship and Arts, oversees worship services
in our church.
